Hi Adrianna: I'm in a group that meets on Thursday evenings and is looking for one more member. We are all writing novels, and the group includes agented or published writers. If you're interested, please feel free to email me at paulamar@san.rr.com, and I can tell you more about our group.

I just arrived in town & am looking for the same thing. Either to join one or start one. I was part of a group in Sacramento, & it had a tremendous impact on my abilities as a writer. If you are interested, please let me know:

Hope to hear from you.

I'm looking for a writing group as well to help me refine my current manuscript. I live in the South Bay Area, but work up on Camp Pendleton so location isn't really an issue for me. If there are any groups with an open slot please let me know. bitrazer@gmail.com

I live in East County and looking for a writer's group. I'm writing a novel and am finding it a very lonely project. I could use feedback and just have people I could bounce ideas off of.

I just moved back into Carlsbad after leaving CA for a job in Seattle. I would like to express my creative side by starting a non-fiction autobiography and I am looking for a writers group to join.

I'm a novice writer and would love to find a group in the Clairemont area. I'm only writing short stories at the moment and can't seem to get past the 3000 word mark.

I live in Northpark and work in La Jolla. I just got out here and really need a new group. I'm writing a novel and found it very helpful back on the east coast to have people to talk to!

hey all- check out San Diego Writers Ink. they have ongoing writing groups, classes, workshops, etc. great place for a writer.

I looked into writer's Ink and they charge for everything even a quiet time and space to write. I'm looking for a more informal group, maybe only one or two other people where we can share and comment on our writing.

Have you found a group, yet? I, too, was frustrated by attempts at joining the writing community and joined Writer's Ink....haven't gotten anything out of it, yet.
I'm interested in finding a group to work on novels. The group I belonged to in the Bay area was comprised of people with finished manuscripts, but am willing to explore other options.
Let me know if you're interested....I've been involved in larger groups and smaller ones, and prefer a group of about 5-6 members.

Have you found a group yet?
I just moved to the area and am interested in joining or forming one. I am on the San Diego State campus.
The group I belong to in the Bay area is 5 members, all with finished projects.

Am available any evening but Monday, also available weekends or during day.

Welcome San Diego Writers!

Grab a cup of coffee, pull up a chair and stay awhile. Let's talk about writing.

Keep a few things in mind as you post here:

1. Posts are public.
This is a public forum and all posts are archived on the web. Bottom line, don't say anything here you wouldn't want everyone (and I mean EVERYONE: your mom, your little brother, your future employer) to see. Forever.

2. Be On Topic.
This is a group of writers. We're here to talk about writing, the creation of writing, the business of writing, events about writing. We are also a community of friends to some extent, which means that on occasion, non-writing topics will come up. Use the Start a New Discussion link if you want to change topics, and be sure to Title and Tag your post appropriately. That way your fellow writers will be able to scan the list of active discussions and see which ones are of interest.

3. Be Respectful.
Don't really foresee a problem here, but we gotta say it anyway. Disagreements are fine, but please please don't resort to personal insults and/or name calling. Mean people are not cool and harassment, intentionally inflammatory remarks, and bigotry will not be tolerated.

4. Privacy.
We'll respect yours. We won't give away or sell names, contact information, etc. Please do the same for your fellow community members.

5. SPAM. Don't.

6. Ads.
Part of the deal with using this wonderful, free online tool (ning.com) is that it has Ads running along the side. We can upgrade to a professional account, but it will cost $20 per month, so if it bothers you, be prepared to pony up.
